The National Father's Day Committee, an entity of the Father's Day/Mother's Day Council, confers annual Father of the Year Honors on contemporary lifestyle leaders of our culture. We are a not-for-profit and noncommercial organization that channels the funds raised by our Annual Father of the Year Awards presentations into family-related charities. In addition to our National Awards Presentation, we make Regional Awards in a growing list of selected cities. The program seeks to enhance the meaning of Father's Day and to encourage universal observance by recognizing role model parents.
The National Father's Day Committee has, since 1942, dedicated its efforts to reaching the broad scope of the national mosaic with the message of traditional values and sound family relationships. In the last few years, we have focused our efforts on promoting responsibility and caring relationships among families.
Father's Day was founded in 1910, when life seemed less complicated and far slower paced. Today's Fathers are faced with the challenges of sharing the task of raising children, managing a household, and balancing and often demanding job. By designating one Father of the Year for his success in these endeavors, we hope to honor all Fathers and all families here in the United States and in more than fifty nations around the world. |
